Hi everyone, the internet situation is tough over here but within the next week I'll be getting everything together to start making some legitimate posts.  Cape Town and Stellenbosch are pretty amazing and I have some great pictures to show. Also, my friend Ian hooked me up with a volunteering job at an NGO (non-governmental organization) that does a ton of construction projects and teaching within the local townships so I'll have more on that later as well.

Why I made this Blog..

     I have always thought (wrongly) that personal blogs were pretty useless, especially considering the fact that Facebook can do just about anything a blog site can. I figure blogs are usually best for teaching or as mediums for sharing/reviewing fashion, music, etc. Nonetheless, here I am, and there are at least three good reasons for this:

1. My mom is pressuring me to make a blog for pictures

2. I want the opportunity to share the details of my travels with family, former teachers, and other acquaintances without being completely made fun of by my close friends (my posts will inevitably sound really corny and would be torn apart on Facebook).

3. Considering the fact that I am taking a year off from school, the blog will allow me to practice writing and convince myself that I can still communicate with at least some level of complexity/intelligence (Although, I'm feeling pretty rusty right now).

That's all I have so far; however, as readers, please feel free to correct my poor grammar, recommend books for me to read, ask questions, share the blog with anyone who may like to view it, or comment on any of my posts. See ya!
